The Details

The World 24 Hour Mountain Bike Championships which was created in 1999 has a few new additions. For 2012 the event will be a standalone event for the first time in it’s history. Second the event will include two new categories; 1) “2-Person Open” and 2) “3-Person Coed”. All the historical Solo categories (Elite, Single Speed, <25, 25 – 29, 30 – 34, 35 – 39, 40 – 44, 45 – 49, 50 – 54, 55 – 59, 60+) will continue of course.

On August 3, 2011 we had announced the date of September 14 – 16, 2012 with the location to be in North America and announced within 30 days.

On September 7, 2011 we announced the location – Canmore Alberta Canada.

“After careful consideration of three North American venues Twenty4 Sports is pleased to announce that the Town of Canmore has won the bid to host the 2012 World 24 Hour Mountain Bike Championships. Twenty4 Sports would like to thank the other interested locations for their interest and efforts.”
