24 Hours of Adrenalin – World Championships

QUALIFYING

Qualifying

This is the World 24 Hour Mountain Bike Championships and thus athletes must qualify in order to participate. See Qualifying Events for more information. Once you have qualified you need to create a profile and notify us in order for us to verify your results and activate your profile. Email us links to your results.

Athletes from the following countries have participated:

Argentina / Australia / Austria / Brazil / Canada / Costa Rica / Denmark / Germany / Great Britain / Ireland / Italy / New Zealand / Poland / Russia / Scotland / South Africa / Sweden / Switzerland / USA  and Venezuela

The World 24 Hour Mountain Bike Championships has a total field of 450 riders, who will need to qualify in order to participate.

300 – Solo Athletes (elite, single speed and age groups)

  • Elite (Male & Female)
  • Single Speed (Male & Female)
  • Age Groups: (Male & Female)

(<25, 25 – 29, 30 – 34, 35 – 39, 40 – 44, 45 – 49, 50 – 54, 55 – 59, 60+)

30 – two person open teams (teams are selected based on a team resumé) No gender division.

Teams can also provide a team race resume for consideration. These need to be sent to worldchampionships@twenty4sports.com and make sure your subject reads “W24C Team Race Resume” Be as specific as you can and outline your reasons you would like to compete.

Race Resumé should include:

  1. Both riders race history with results. Links to results.
  2. Any media that resulted from the riders participation.
  3. Key Sponsors.
  4. Any charitable relationships.
  5. Current web sites and or blog sites, plus facebook and twitter accounts.
  • Canada: Allocated 5 teams
  • USA: Allocated 5 teams
  • UK: Allocated 4 teams
  • Australia / New Zealand: Allocated 4 teams
  • Italy: Allocated 2 team
  • Denmark: Allocated 2 team
  • Spain: Allocated 1 team
  • Germany: Allocated 1 team
  • Sweden: Allocated 1 team
  • Switzerland: Allocated 1 team
  • Poland: Allocated 1 team
  • Other: 5 teams based on resumé
  • As of May 1, 2012 countries not filled will be awarded to wait list teams.

30 – three person coed teams (each team must have one member of the opposite gender)

Please note that each Solo Rider MUST provide a Solo Pit Manager who must be onsite during the entire event.

  • Past world solo participants will be given an opportunity to automatically qualify. This will not be without criteria, for example a base number of laps and or corresponding total kms will need to have been meet.  This will be a one time offer and will be emailed directly to athlete emails on the twenty4 sports database. This offer will be provided once the final location is revealed. Athletes make sure your email is updated on your personal profile in the twenty4 sports database.
  • Riders can also provide a race resume for consideration. These need to be sent to worldchampionships@twenty4sports.com and make sure your subject reads “W24C Race Resume” Be as specific as you can and outline your reasons you would like to compete.
  • General rule for qualifying: In order to gain an Elite spot riders must complete within 75% of the number of laps of the winner. Age group and single speed athletes must finish within 50%. These general rules are subject to change over the next couple of months, but give you a guide from past years.
  • Riders it is strongly suggested that you contact your local 24 Hour race and request that they become an official qualifier for the World 24 Hour Mountain Bike Championships. Official Qualifying Events will have a set number of guaranteed entries based on the size of the race and elements the local organizer provides to the winning athletes attending there race.
